Kìwekì Point Guided Site Tour

To attend this session, registrants must meet in the Conference Lounge: Provinces & Confederation I Kreitmaker Experiential Learning Dispatch Hub + Foyer of the Westin Ottawa Hotel

Experience Kìwekì Point in person with a guided site tour provided by representatives of the National Capital Commission and Janet Rosenberg & Studio (JRS)—the landscape architect and lead design consultant on the project. The team will provide insights into the design decisions and process that reshaped this important landscape in the heart of Canada’s Capital.

This session is Level 3 (Moderately Active). Dress for weather conditions and wear comfortable footwear and clothing (including a hat for sun protection). Consider bringing a refillable water bottle, high-SPF sunscreen and sunglasses, and your camera.

Please note: Participants will gather and depart from the Kreitmaker Experiential Learning Dispatch Hub located in the Conference Lounge.

Learning Objectives
1. Gain insights into the landscape architect/architect/client relationship in the public realm.
2. Experience the views and conditions that shaped the park, pavilion, and bridge.
3. Experience the details, materials, planting design, and interpretive plan.
4. Gain insights into the rationale behind key design decisions.
