Kìwekì Point – Big River Landscape

Kìwekì Point is a prominent public realm landscape for the National Capital Commission. Recently completed, the project was driven by a collaborative team with the ambitious goal of reconnecting the point with the Ottawa River. In this session, the landscape architect, architect, and client will discuss the initiatives that reshaped this important landscape in the Capital.

Learning Objectives

1. Learn design approaches to the public realm and landscape architecture.
2. Hear about strategies for multidisciplinary team and client collaboration.
3. Gain methods for recontextualizing colonialism.
4. Understand how to balance ambitions with budget, sustainability, and function.
