This session explores skylight design, performance, and installation within the building enclosure. The expert presenters will highlight daylighting benefits, energy efficiency metrics, code requirements, and best practices for successful integration in buildings.
Learning Objectives
1. Gain an understanding about the role of skylights in improving daylighting performance and occupant well-being within commercial and institutional buildings.
2. Learn how to incorporate skylights into designs in a way that enhances both visual impact and building performance.
3. Gather knowledge of current code requirements, including the North American Fenestration Standard (NAFS) and Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) standards, and how to design for compliance.
4. Learn how to apply best practices for skylight design, specification, and integration within the building enclosure to ensure durability, water-tightness, and long-term performance.
