Reforming Procurement: A Grassroots Initiative

May 15, 2025 | CONTINUING EDUCATION | STRUCTURED

1.50 ConEd Learning Hours
4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Procurement of public sector projects, from sidewalks to buildings to parks, is bane of existence for many firms. Closely coupled with this is a general lack of public understanding of the role procurement policy can have in not only a positive outcome, but in setting a city's vision and goal for a vibrant, accessible, public realm, supported by a thriving local economy.

Learning Objectives

1. Learn how to build a grassroots organization and establish funding.
2. Understand the core issues of procurement through case studies.
3. Explore how to create public support for procurement reform.
4. Understand how to engage in political advocacy to effect change.
