Explore innovation in clay brick masonry through the lenses of sustainability, durability, and building science. Participants will examine how clay brick contributes to long-term performance and environmental responsibility, while addressing critical detailing strategies that protect the building envelope. The discussion covers water penetration management, including the proper use of flashing, weep holes, air spaces, and moisture barriers to control bulk water and promote drainage. Various masonry wall assemblies will also be reviewed, with attention to how design choices influence constructability, maintenance, and lifecycle performance.
